Good times in the Maritimes: Part 2

As per my request
Before I leave my home and native land
I wanted to go on a hike with my brothers.
So Saturday Craig, Chris, Avery, Austin, and I
hiked Cape Split.

Cape split is a beautiful 16km hike
featuring the NS hardwood forest
and scenic views of the Bay of Fundy.

Although the leaves are just starting on the trees
the mayflowers were out in full bloom
and I got a little obsessed with them.

We tried several times to take a nice group shot.
The ridiculous dog did not like all his humans in a tree
So he joined us too!

Our little Riley Dog was such a trooper!

Oh so Nova Scotia...
It was a great way to spend my last Saturday in Nova Scotia.
As of today, I am officially un-employed.
It feels a little crazy!
But I am trying not to panic and focus on preparing for my road trip
in T-2days!

Good times in the Maritimes!

With the count down to my departure to the mid-west officially on!
(5 more shifts at work and 10 more sleeps until my departure)

It was officially time to celebrate, party,
and enjoy the company of my friends and family.
Although I will miss those I leave behind
It is hard to hide my excitement when I think about being with my love.

To kick off the festivities Thursday night
I celebrated working with wonderful coworkers
over dinner and drinks.

Keeping with this theme...Friday night:
My two besties and I
had a "sleepover party night"
filled with delicious food, wine, and dancing!

Topping it all off Sunday, I had the honour
of hosting a bridal shower for my friend and cousin.
The theme for the shower was "Love in Blossom"
I showered the place with the spring-time freshness
and the romance of roses
Again it was good food and lots of fun!
(Are we seeing a theme yet?)

Here are a few pictures from the Bridal shower event:

Canada's Ocean Playground

Happy April 1st!!!

Unlike last year...
I did not have any April Fools tricks up my sleeve.

Instead
I spent this beautiful day with
my brother Chris, Avery (his girlfriend), and my grandfather
enjoying Canada's Ocean Playground (a.k.a. Nova Scotia).

We enjoyed a beautiful scenic drive to
Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia

Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia

This small fishing village and lighthouse
is the poster child of Nova Scotia
and one of my favourite places.

The rocks
It is a very rocky and barren terrain along the coast.
For my Saba friends: Similar to the Tidepools it is very rocky;
unlike the Tidepools the rocks are very smooth.

I heart the sparkling atlantic*
Me at Peggy's Cove :)
We spent our time there enjoying the views, walking and climbing the rocks!

This was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with family and friends.
I really feel like I need to soak up as much east coast and ocean time
as possible during the next six weeks
before I make the big move to the midwest!
